Роздум як нараційна форма оповідання «Помилка» Лесі Українки

Abstract

У статті з погляду наратології розглянуто функціональність роздуму як одного з типів викладу змістово-фактуального матеріалу в оповіданні «Помил- ка» Лесі Українки. Окрім ролі ретардації подієвої канви, роздум може стати наративною стратегією, забезпечувати пізнавальну функцію. Окрім того, роз- дум тісно пов’язаний із мотиваціями вчинків персонажів і є тим специфічним висловлюванням, яке опосередковано сигналізує про спливання часу. In the article from the narratology point of view, functionality of reflection as a kind of content and factual material in the Lesia Ukrainka’s story “Mistake” is examined. There are not many prosaic works that were built using one functional semantic type. As a rule, a writer uses different types of exposition. Advantage of one of them becomes the personal style forming characteristics of the author’s artistic writing. Artistic text built in a form of reflection is in the first turn argumentation, but not presentation, it is not history of events, but interpretation of the author’s world: judgement, narrator’s reasoning, his persuasion, world view, attitude towards himself and other personages. If the author passes vote to the personage, then attitude towards surroundings expresses exactly he. Often reflection is not only the most important method of artistic text organization, it serves as the means of conflict development transmission. Story “Mistake” by Lesia Ukrainka is a technique of story, where diegesis is set forth not as a history told by the narrator, but in form of the row of fleeting impressions, free associations, sudden remembrances and fragmentary reflections of a personage, that seem not to yield to any to narratorial treatment, but alternate according to free associative principle. The internal mono- logue of a prisoner is given as a recreation of his perception process, remembrances and thinking. Situation, when the personage acknowledges something, confesses in something, so to say is in private with the internal voice, one could designate as reflection. Except retardation role of eventful canvas, a reflection could become a narrative strategy, to provide a cognitive function. Besides, reflection is closely connected with characters’ acts motivation and is that specific expression which mediatedly informs about time emerging
