Шляхи поповнення англійського антропонімікону оцінними одиницями

Abstract

Стаття присвячена опису основних шляхів поповнення англійського антропонімічного складу одиницями з оцінною семантикою. Дослідження оцінних антропонімів не може бути вичерпним без аналізу їх структури, дериваційного потенціалу та основних джерел поповнення антропонімікону досліджуваними одиницями. Вивчення структури оцінних антропонімічних одиниць сприяє більш ґрунтовному аналізу оцінки у шарі антропонімів, оскільки словотворчі форманти розглядаються з погляду їх ролі у наданні оцінним антропонімам позитивного чи негативного забарвлення. Результати структурного та словотвірного аналізу досліджуваних оцінних антропонімів дозволяють розширити відомості про тенденції антропонімічного словотвору в системі англійської мови. The article deals with the description of the main ways of enriching the bulk of English anthroponyms by the units with evaluative semantics. In the thesis the definition of the evaluative anthroponym has been suggested. By evaluative anthroponym we understand personal names (given names, surnames, nicknames) the lexical background of which contains the evaluation meaning component that is manifested in the naming process on the basis of the following factors: native – borrowed; active – passive; frequently used – seldom used; consonant to positive evaluative – negative evaluative vocabulary units; identical with the names of decent – indecent famous bearers. The criteria for the selection of the evaluative anthroponyms have been formulated, the corpus of the lexical units under analysis has been compiled. The structure of evaluation in the system of proper names has been described.
