Специфіка сполук із компонентом рожевий (на матеріалі української та англійської мов)

Abstract

У статті досліджено походження, референцію і розвиток значення низки сполук, які містять кольороназви рожевий (англ. – pink). Здійснено спробу виявити типову сполучуваність кольороназви рожевий на матеріалі корпусних даних. Загалом приділено увагу символіці зазначеної кольороназви в мовно-культурному просторі; проаналізовано міжмовні паралелі та культурні впливи. Виявлено прототипні референти рожевого в дослі¬джуваних мовах. The article studies the origin, reference, and development of the meaning of a number of word-combinations containing English and Ukrainian colour names «pink» and «рожевий» (Ukrainian word for «pink») correspondingly. In this study we made an attempt to identify the typical valency of the Ukrainian colour name «рожевий» based on the corpus data. In total, the attention was paid to the symbolism of the noted colour name in the linguistic and cultural space, cross-language parallels and cultural influences were analysed. The analysis also involved data of the associative experiments. Prototype referents of the indicated colour name in the studied languages were discovered. The conclusion was made that the available traditional hard-copy dictionaries do not provide for systemic registration of the meanings of the word «рожевий» and compounds consisting it, while electronic dictionaries and encyclopedias, including Wikipedia, compensate for this disadvantage (for ex. non-registration of new word meanings or new combinations of words), providing for linguistic and cultural commentary missing from monolingual dictionaries.
