Функціонування гоноративу в комунікативній культурі британців

Abstract

У статті зроблено спробу висвітлити функціонування мовних одиниць, які номінують категорію гоноративу в британській лінгвокультурі. Метою дослідження стало виявлення засобів мовної репрезентації гоноративів у комунікативній культурі британського суспільства. Категорію гоноративу досліджено крізь призму категорії ввічливості, яка є суспільно обумовленою. Виведено визначення гоноративу та класифікація цієї категорії згідно з пріоритетними цінностями західної традиції. Визначено спільні та диференційні зони понять «гоноратив» та «гонорифік». The article attempts to study the functioning of the linguistic units which nominate the honorific category in the British linguistic culture. The aim of the study is identifying and analyzing the means of language representation of honorifics in communicative culture of the British society. Honorific category is examined through the category of politeness that is socially conditioned. The definition of honorific category is given and according to the priority values of the western tradition the classification of this category is proposed. Common and distinctive characteristics of the notions "honorific" and «honorific expressions» are identified. The research prospective is outlined on the basis of connection of honorifics with lexical units, which nominate HONOUR concept.
