Наративна перспектива іншої свідомості в повісті Галини Пагутяк «Кіт з потонулого будинку»

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано наративну організацію повісті Галини Пагутяк «Кіт з потонулого будинку». Кіт-наратор репрезентує свідомість із нестандартним поглядом на світ, привертаючи увагу читача до проблеми співіснування з Іншим, свободи та ув’язнення, катастрофи як смерті і як народження, ілюзії й реальності, порозуміння під час комунікації.The paper deals with analysis of narrative organization of the story «The Cat from the Drowned Building» by Halyna Pahutyak, in particular, the attention is paid to peculiarities of the narrative strategies change in the work. The cat represents the other consciousness, demonstrating different from usual-human (rather than naive) view of the world and revealing the essence of things in unexpected light. Sometimes voices of characters (hosts, the child, the blind persons, God) get into the cat’s narration making impression of the dialogue of consciousnesses and giving possibility to juxtapose different perspectives of approaching to the same problem – the one of co-existing with Other and differentiation of Other and Alien, free choice and responsibility, freedom and imprisonment, catastrophe as death and as birth, relations with Home and world, illusion and reality and finally the problem of understanding during the verbal and especially non-verbal communication.
