Abstract
The given article studies the language policy in higher education of Ukraine during the 60-70 years of the XX century. The author analyses the influence of social and political factors on the educational sphere of Ukrainians, discovers the factors that hampered the development of Ukrainian language and accelerated the process of denationalization of Ukrainians in the outlined period.
