У статті досліджено оцінку М. Драгомановим інституту державності та модель майбутнього суспільства. Державу науковець розглядав як засіб стабілізації соціальної ієрархії. Обстоював ідею суспільства, побудо-ваного на засадах самоврядування. Заперечував доцільність державної незалежності української нації.M.
