Фразеологічні засоби на позначення песимізму в сучасній англійській мові

Abstract

У статті розглянуто семантичні особливості фразеологічних одиниць на позначення песимізму в сучасній англійській мові. Актуальність дослідження визначається особливою роллю фразеологічних одиниць у створенні мовної картини світу комуніканта-песиміста. Спрямованість наукової розвідки на виявлення семасіо¬логічних та ономасіологічних характеристик фразеологічних одиниць на позначення песимізму як складного психологічного, соціального та когнітивного феномену створює елемент новизни. У результаті аналізу фразеологічних одиниць із семантикою песимізму обґрунтовано песимістичну марко¬ваність фразеологічних засобів, які вказують на суб’єкта-носія песимізму, його стан та зовнішні чинники, що спричиняють ситуацію, сприятливу для формування песимістичної комунікативної поведінки. The article highlights the semantic features of phraseological units, which indicate pessimism in Modern English. The timeliness of the topic is determined by the special role of phraseological units in creating the language picture of the world of a pessimistic communicant. The focus of the research on identifying semasiological and onomasiological characteristics of phraseological units, denoting pessimism as a complex psychological, social and cognitive phenomenon, creates the novelty of the work. The analysis of phraseological units with the pessimistic semantics resulted in justification of pessimistic markedness of the phraseological means pointing to an object-carrier of pessimism and its main characteristics; the state of the subject-carrier of pessimism which is determined by a range of negative emotional reactions, cognitive and mental states that accompany manifestations of pessimistic communicative behavior; external factor, which creates a situation favorable for the formation of a pessimistic communicative behavior; situations that provoke pessimistic behavior of a communicant. Interrelation between the semantic status of phraseological units and socio-psychological type of pessimism that defines the features of pessimistic communicative behavior is proved.
