Сонет Лесі Українки "Дихання пустині": ритміка і рими

Abstract

Розглянуто формальні віршознавчі особливості сонета Лесі Українки «Дихання пустині». Проаналізовано наголошеність стоп поезії (написаної п’яти-стоповим ямбом) та частотність словоподілів. Рими схарактеризовано як точні, граматично та фонетично однорідні.The paper deals with formal features of the Lesya Ukrainka’s sonnet «Breath of the Desert». Rhythm analysis performed in comparison with the rhythm of the previous Lesya Ukrainka’s poem of the same cycle, as well as individual works of Ivan Franko and Mykhailo Starytsky. There is a tendency to fully stressed verse amplified by the use of additional accents at the beginning of verse. Rythm of the beginning of the verse is rising. In place of the alleged caesura frequency of word boundary amplified (compared with the previous poem by Lesya Ukrainka), but not to a level sufficient for the caesura. The sonnet rhymes are perfect and identical. The ranks of the rhymes are connected together by means of vowels, the same type of articulation. Poetess avoids exotic rhymes (despite the theme of the work) and fills sonnet alliteration, including anagram puzzles. Thanks to formal features verse impression true monotonous structure that is consistent with the content and imagery of the sonnet.
