Діяльність Згромадження сестер-мироносиць у 1914–1946 рр.

Abstract

У статті досліджено передумови створення та історичний розвиток жіночого чернечого Згромадження сестер-мироносиць на території Галичини. Основну увагу приділено висвітленню діяльності спільноти мироносиць в умовах двох світових воєн. Описано процес ліквідації чернечого життя сестер-мироносиць із при-ходом радянської влади.The article is devoted to the preconditions of the foundation and historical development of the woman monastic Community of the Sisters Myrrhbearers. The process of the formation of the monastic community from the Myrrhbearers Society in 1910 to the Sisters Myrrhbearers Community as a part of the is analyzed. The main attention is paid to the activity of the nuns under the two world war conditions and to the influence of the war conflicts on the nuns’ life. The contribution of Metropolitan Bishop Sheptytsky, Bishop Khomyshyn and the fathers of the Order of Saint Basil the Great to the development of the monastic community is studied. The author describes the process of closing the monasteries of the UGCC under the influence of the soviet authority and explains the reasons why the monastic communities functioned illegally.
