Простежено специфіку формотворення іменників, прикметників, дієслів, відмінності у структурі та відмінюванні числівників і займенників, а також в оформленні прислівників і службових слів. З’ясовано специфіку використання письменником елементів волинсько-поліської говірки та функції діалек­тизмів у художній мові роману. Установлено, що діалектне мовлення в романі створює ефект суб’єктивної оповіді-сповіді. Morphological peculiarities of Volynian-Polissyan patoisin the text of Volodymyr Lys’s novel «Jacob’s Century» are analyzed. The specificity of formation of nouns, adjectives and verbs, differences in the structure and declension of numerals and pronouns, as well as in formation of adverbs and functional words is being traced. The specificity of use of the Volynian-Polissyan patois elements by the author and the function of the dialectal words in the novel’s artistic language are indicated. It is ascertained that the dialectal speech in the novel creates the effect of a subjective narration-confession.

Охарактеризовано неофіційні найменування людей, твірною базою яких послугували апелятиви розрядів «nomina personalia» і «nomina impersonalia». Серед фактажу західнополіських неофіційних іменувань засвідчено такі групи апелятивів: назви-характеристики за зовнішнім виглядом особи, внутрішнім світом людини, родом за­няття чи процесуальною дією, за специфікою мовлення; національною чи територіальною ознакою, родинними стосунками. З’ясовано також суть подвійної семантизації у вуличних антропонімах, семантизації композитів і словоскладних форм, словосполучень. The article analyzes the nicknames of inhabitants Western Polissya, formed lexical-semantic method. Characteristic of nicknames, traces of which served as a base apelyativs bits «nomina personalia» and «nomina impersonalia». When semantyzation nickname installed in their original appeal by origin, attested in the literary language or dialect, otherwise – the so-called «situational» or analohiyni apelyativs. Among nicknames of Western Polissya witnessed such groups apelyativs: names, features the appearance of the person's inner world of man, a native classes or remedial action for the specific language, ethnic or territorial basis, and family relationships. In the category of personal naming «nomina impersonalia» analyzed nickname derived from fauna and flora, names realities of economic life, anatomical and abstract names. We show also dual core semantyzatsiyi in nicknames, semantyzations composites and word-bilding forms phrases.

The article is devoted to the analysis of proper names (toponyms), that showing the text historical, ethnographic, connotative and other information, form the individual and author picture of the world. The vast majority of names (oykonyms, hydronyms, microtoponyms, godonyms etc.), used by the author in the novel, describes the scene and conveys the realities of provincial Zhitomir 50−60-ies of XX century. The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of the language and style of a prominent Ukrainian writer and polemicist Ivan Vyshensky, in particular it deals with specifics of finding folk speech elements in his work. Creativity belongs to insufficiently studied features of Ivan Vyshensky style in the context of Ukrainian literary and language process. Paying tribute to the literary and linguistic traditions which prevailed in book publishing of Ukraine of the late XVIth – early XVII century and commending the traditional – Church Slavonic – language religious sphere Ivan Vyshensky was a brilliant innova­tor in the Ukrainian language. He and his literary creativity in preaching accelerated the process of intensive traditional bookish language approximation to the popular language of the Ukrainian folk. Vocabulary of Vyshensky works is thematically diverse, overwhelmed with expressive emotional images, occasional words, bright, elegant tropes.

The article deals with the investigation of lexical structure of westernpolissyan dialect which presents the particular interest as far as concerns lexics reflecting different language changes in local dialect as westernpolissyan keeps the real treasure for slav phyilology. The lexical-thematic group of mushroom’s names is analyzed in this work. The group appeared to be the oldest and valuable one during the learning the history of language. The analysis from the semantic motivation point of view is done. The value of the article in the next: one part of the names are direct motivated and the other one is indirect motivated. Few names can be motivated in different ways. The analysis of these motivations allows us to define 12 main motivated characteristics which unequally detect in fixed mykonomens.

The article is based on independently developed program and collected sources which present considerable empirical material – set of noments representing mushrooms in westernpollisyan dialects, identified specific category of lexical and thematic groups. Names of mushrooms in westernpollisyan dialects form a plentiful vocabulary in terms of thematic group, level of representation and nominative variability of desyhnativs which are different. Lexical variation of group thoroughly imbued by synonymous relations, besides the same names for nomination of several desyhnativs are used. Most types of mushrooms – monolexems. Analytical names are represented mainly by the type of attributive phrases.

Emphasized univerbats, which denote elected and public processes, objects of different newest technology, mechanisms, models of cars and so on. The article described the main structural features of suffixal univerbats, defined their stylistic role, concluded about language economy and diffusivity of lexical units in publicism, and also, univerbation as the way of derivation goes beyond only spoken language.
